This was our first trip to Rome and certainly won't be our only one, largely due to this beautiful apartment in such a great location for seeing the main sights and feeling that you are living in the Rome community. The apartment was a little haven of peace after long days of walking and seeing the sights. A really comfortable bed, a lovely warm room and a very relaxing place. Communication from Olivella regarding the arrangements to book beforehand and information provided to enjoy our stay were excellent. I would recommend this place to any couple who wants to have a lovely holiday in this beautiful city. Good restaurants around the corner - just a quick stroll away. Perfect city break for us and will return.

We stayed for 5 nights at Casa del Conte early June 17, whilst the location was great, close proximity to Piazza Navona & Pantheon. The accommodation however, was a little lacking, the brass bed was extremely comfortable, small living room area & bedroom area both with windows and outside shutters kept it cool, and a bathroom with no windows. It was the bathroom that let it down, seals around the shower could have been cleaner, the maid came in a couple of days into our stay but merely emptied the wastepaper baskets, and washed a couple of cups & glasses, no cleaning. The towels and bath mat were not changed in 5 days, despite a very hot June in Rome. The complimentary breakfast was not worth the bother, not really b&b as you have to find it first! Café Barnum is right on your doorstep and does a wonderful coffee and croissant for breakfast. All freshly made, do try it. Popular little place. Wonderful small restaurants too, just 2 mins from the front door, our recommendations are Osteria Dei Cappellari, great food and service and La Fiaschetta, great sommelier here. We ate four nights in this area due to the restaurants, although worth booking as they do get busy weekends. Favourite wine bar off Piazza Navona, il Ritrovo del Gusto, Via dei Coronari, we found this lovely wine bar on a previous visit to Rome and returned twice during our stay for lunch/drinks. Would highly recommend the area only, not so much the accommodation, it was quite noisey at times, and there is a connecting door to the owner's apartment next door which we were not aware of, making it less private.

We have tried several times on visits to Rome to stay at this delightful B&B, but only this past summer were we actually able to book it for 7 days. It is much in demand! Olivella was immediately responsive to our questions, both before our arrival and while we were there. She greeted us warmly and explained all the details about the room and the neighborhood. ||We found the B&B to be quiet and calm, an oasis from the busy streets of that ancient neighborhood. Antique furniture, prints and paintings made it a splendid counterpart to the wonders of the eternal city. Superb air conditioning was especially welcome this past hot summer. We also appreciated the large windows and abundant light and the well-equipped and sparkling clean bathroom. ||We’re going to plan our next trip to Rome to coincide with the availability of the Casa del Conte. So please don’t book it for yourself then!

To describe La Casa del Conte as a B&B does this delightful place an injustice.||||It's to be found in the heart of the Centro Storico, the ancient part of Rome, and within a few minutes walking distance from Rome's most iconic sights. ||||The self-contained suite comprises a living area with desk TV/CD player, desk and comfortable sofa, shower room and bedroom. The decor is elegant and restful with impressive oil paintings and artwork on all the walls. There is a small fridge, glasses a bottle opener and corkscrew, and a tray with travel kettle, a selection of teas and Nescafé sachets. The apartment is on the second floor with a lift for access.||||There are some lovely touches that make this a home-from-home, such as a collection of books, classical CDs and DVDs of films set in Rome. A number of maps, tourist and food guides are provided and there's free wi-fi. ||||The host, Olivella, speaks good English. She lives in the adjacent apartment and is very friendly and helpful. She said to ask if we needed any advice and that was most welcome on our second day when we had to get to the Vatican by 7 in the morning for our tour.||||We were delighted with our stay and loved the location and the independence of our own place.

We have just stayed for five nights in this very comfortable and welcoming appartment in Rome. Olivella was friendly and exceedingly helpful and helped to make our stay in Rome just magnificent. ||Every major tourist destination was within fifteen minutes walk from La Casa del Conte and it is located in an historic part of the city with a fantastic choice inexpensive restaurants within a few minutes walk. Olivella also has some good recommendations about good and inexpensive eating and shopping.||This is an ideal home away from home and will without doubt be the venue which we stay in when next in Rome.

We have recently returned from Rome having spent five nights in the Casa del Conte. The accommodation was clean with tea and coffee provided (no milk) and a fridge with a bottle of water. Our biggest problem was the noise though. ||||This apartment is in a five storey residential building and you could hear the banging of doors at all times of the day and night. We also had problems with road noise, although steps have been taken to minimise this with double glazing. However, the continual sound of car horns and sirens, especially at night, didn’t make for a peaceful night’s sleep. We were aware that this building was quite central but hadn’t appreciated just how noisy it would be and hadn’t even considered the noise from within.||||The B&B is very close to all the main attractions though and there are plenty of really good restaurants within a few minutes walk especially La Fiaschetta and Osteria dei Cappellari where the food and service were extremely good in both. When we booked the apartment Olivella sent us plenty of information about the attractions, local transport and restaurants in the surrounding area which we found very useful in planning our stay. Unfortunately we never actually got to meet Olivella. Transport to and from the airport can be arranged through Olivella at around 38 euros each way but don’t expect anything special. The vehicles we had weren’t particularly clean but the drivers were very friendly and helpful.

Gioia was very gracious and made sure that I felt welcome and comfortable during my stay. She also made recommendations on what to do while in Sienna.|The B&B was very clean, my room always had fresh linens. Breakfast was excellent and fresh. The B&B is centrally located to shops, restaurants, The Duomo, city center and even a laundromat! Sienna is a very charming city and I defiantly would recommend and stay at La Casa del Conte again!|

Great location - walking distance to many Rome's major sights. Lots of good restaurants just around the corner. Spacious and clean. Queen bed with separate sitting room nice desk and bar fridge. Good sound proofing. Great internet. Minimal offsite breakfast. Cash only. No parking. Airport pickup can be arranged.
