Barbie pet salon is the best grooming place in Santa Barbara. They provided us with excellent service and my maltipoo seemed to love the experience. He wasn’t scared at all. They left my dog looking so cute. I’m very satisfied.

This was the worst bath & brush grooming appointment my dog Oyster has ever received. Please see the pictures of Oyster's belly after his first and last visit to Barbie's pet salon.

He isn't moving, other than to try to self heal by licking the red, very raw skin due to razor burn on his belly. I specifically told Shiva and the receptionist to NOT shave out the single mat he had, but they ignored my request and did so anyway. I have spent over $200 in products (oral and topical medications and ointments, a cone, a vet visit etc.) so far to heal this grooming catastrophe. The amount of time, energy, and money I am now spending due to oyster's visit to Barbie's for a professional bath & brush-only appointment, let alone Oyster's pain and discomfort, is ridiculous.

When I called to let Shiva know all of the above, she immediately became defensive, unapologetic about shaving his belly against my strict request not to, unapologetic about NOT telling me that a severe skin abrasion occurred when I picked up Oyster, and further claimed that this severe razor burn was "not grooming related."

Oyster's previous bath and brush with a different groomer was 1.5wks ago. So, this was not a crazy mat. I have dealt with mats like this before with scissors and a brush no problem. And I requested no shaving because I was specifically worried about razor burn.

I seriously hope Barbie's Pet Salon considers responding to such incidents with other clients in the future by taking responsibility, offering to refund the appointment and sincerely apologizing for the pain and discomfort they caused.

Took Lola (Mini Schnauzer) for her first grooming and I am absolutely pleased with the results! Thank you Shiva soo much for such a great service and patience with Lola! This little puppy can be a hands full!?

Barbie's did a great job giving a full groom (bath, haircut, nail trim) to my pomeranian! She looks so adorable and smells great. I'll definitely be taking her there again.

I took my Malamute Husky to be groomed. She has two layers of fur, her under coat was pretty mated. I was quoted $150.00, her appointment was at 12:00 pm, they said come back at 5:00 to pick her up. After dropping her off I called back and told them she had clumps of mated fur around her neck from her collar, they said they would take care of them. So went to pick her up at 5:00, I called (because they keep their doors locked) they said they were still working on her. Around 5:20 I called and they said they were almost done. I called again at 6:00 and they said they were just finishing up. At 6:08 they called me and said I could come wait inside. When they finally brought her out at 6:20 and took one look at her I was sick to my stomach. They literally butchered her coat. They said she needs a couple of more days work can you bring her back Thursday, I said no. As I looked at her feet they didn’t even trim the hair on her feet or paws, she still had a burr in one of them, I was fuming. There was another lady that came in and she was upset about something too, they said let me take care of her first (meaning me). I went to go pay and she said $180.00, I said you quoted me $150.00 and she said because she was so much work. If I could of walked out without paying I would of, but that’s not me, I even tipped her $30. I took my 10 year old grandson with me and he said grandma I bet she’s going to look so cute. She was a mess. Never once did I get a call about any problems they were facing with her. Not only that when I picked her up and brought her home I think they traumatized her because she wasn’t herself. This morning she seems better, but I will never set foot in there again. They need to stick to small dogs. Sad thing is they were very nice when I took her in, I just think they took on more than they could handle.

I have never seen my mini Schnauzer (who is 11) come out of a grooming appointment more joyous. He was bouncing! He looks as good as he feels. Thanks so much. I just moved here and finding a great groomer is huge!!!!
