The appointment was excellent! Mallory Fullilove was very nice and polite! I wanted to go shorter for summer and she suggested I should get some layers to give my hair some movement! She gave me a blowout and pinned them which I found fascinating! I have never seen it done that way before! I highly recommend going to get your hair done by her!

Here’s the story:
I went to the Paul Mitchell school at San Antonio, Texas for a partial highlight at most.. I asked if they could just do about 4 to 8 foils of blonde highlights in my hair.. On the phone, I explained to the receptionist that I had long blonde hair that needed some lifting on the color only and she said that partial highlights started at $50 so I booked appointment a week in advance, they paired me with a Tier One (beginner) student which I was ok with considering the low cost.
When I arrived at the school they were unwelcoming and when let them know I was open to doing less foils than partial to ensure I was able to keep the price at $50 for the highlights (as I am 7 months pregnant and on budget). The student immediately grabbed an instructor and another student to come over. The instructor introduced herself as “MISS” To enforce authority, which I found odd, considering I am a customer and about the same age as her. When I spoke to the instructor about the needed highlights (just to brighten up my already blonde hair) she immediately began questioning my previous hair treatments and asked where I was getting my hair done in an antagonistic fashion. She was quite rude and basically told me they did not want to do my hair. She told me I could go to another salon, but that they would charge me a MINIMUM of $60 simply to do two small foils (one on each side of my face). She also coldly informed me that they would NOT do a toner with the two foils AND they would also NOT be willing to correct anything that went wrong. I was surprised by the poor business ethics.
In short, they made very clear they were going to overcharge me, underserve me, and disregard accountability in the process.
I’ve had highlight done at high end salons for years who have charged less for partial or even full color treatments.
I decided to honor their reservations and leave (almost in tears from feeling bullied and embarrassed).
I was able to call Supercuts off 1604 by Main Event and H-E-B, right down the street! They took me in right away, and when I explained my budget and what I was looking for and they confirmed they could would happy to help! Supercuts gave me a full partial highlight treatment, as well as lifted the highlights with the toner to ensure the color was correct!

Gwen, the stylist there who had well over 20 years of experience not only did the job beautifully but she only charged me $60 INCLUDING TIP (which she said was pretty standard for the services I needed)!
I highly recommend that you do NOT book your appointment at the Paul Mitchell School until they are have proper leadership.
I would instead go down the road (maybe 4 minutes), to Supercuts and ask for Gwen! She will do an exceptional job , with a smile, and a fair price!

My experience with Tatum was outstanding from the moment she escorted me to her work station until she walked me back to the entrance following our session. Once seated, Tatum explained to me what techniques she would be using and what effect should produced. Knowing how I enjoy all aspects of a procedure, Tatum not only showed me the texture of the product she was using, but also it's scent. After washing my hair, she asked me how I'd like to have it styled, which I asked her to choose. My time withTatum was
informative, professional, and very fulfilling!

I love going to the Paul Mitchell School Salon! I usually go for a cut and style, but have gotten color the past couple of visits. I am always impressed with the skill of the students and the guidance of the instructors. I always get compliments on my color and surprised looks when I tell them it didn't cost me an arm and leg.

It was a horrible experience!!!
Kaylee is a new student that was clearly 100%
unprepared and NOT applying herself one bit.
She spent too much time talking to one of her fellow mates and rolling her eyes when I’d say something or ask a question. She really could’ve used and desperately needed an instructor to hold her hand and guide her.
She was about to leave a lot of color product in the bowl she was using, just to start the 45 minute clock. I asked her nicely to please use it since she still had a section of hair that she had not applied color to. She went and got her instructor Adrian multiple times and he had to get the color and apply it to the grey hair at my hairline. He clearly saw that after being told multiple times, still had not done it. I had a lot of product that was not spread evenly but rather messy and thick.
When she set her 45 minute timer, she said she accidentally put “30 hours” when I told her we only had 30 minutes left. So many excuses and saying “I’m doing my best” and would laugh.
When we went to wash the color off and she said we were done, I told her I still had a lot of product that hadn’t been rinsed off, she proceeded to say “NO” multiple times. I asked her to please get someone to help her and she finally did, with a bad attitude and eye rolling. A female instructor was kind enough to come wash my hair out and it was obvious to her that I had a lot of product still in my hair.
When it came to dry my hair it only got worse with the eye rolling and bad attitude. She was literally drying the air and not my hair as she continued to chat with a classmate.
She was constantly looking at her cell phone.
I made every effort from the beginning to encourage her and engage in conversation. I finally had enough! Thankfully I was able to talk with Norman Lopez before I left after having a misunderstanding with him as well.
I was fed up with Kaylee so I asked her if I could just dry my hair myself. Evidently Norman saw me drying my hair OR Kaylee told him I was drying my hair, so he came over and he said I was not allowed to touch any of their tools ie:dryer, brush etc. Upset, I got up to leave after this confrontation from him.
I was able to communicate with Norman after I walked out of the building upset. I came back in and was able to discuss what had just happened with him. Norman was very cordial and understanding. Thank you!

Chrissy was amazing! Per shampoo skills were excellent. The scout massage was so wonderful and then her blowout. It lasted three days. It held very well. I’d love my hair and I enjoyed my time conversing with her. She is definitely a people person

I got a keratriplex treatment on my hair which included a blow dry, and a deluxe facial. My skin and face feel amazing. It was such a relaxing experience and a great price. Everyone was very professional, and the salon is cool and modern.
